Youth football opportunities in China: understand the working environment

Compare school football, academy and youth-development settings without confusing sector policy with current vacancies.

Understand the education context

China's Ministry of Education publishes school-football development information and designated-school lists. These sources describe the sector's education context. They do not establish that a named school hires foreign coaches, has a current vacancy or works with TFI Connect.

Compare the programme's purpose

Ask whether the programme focuses on participation, school learning or performance development. Clarify age groups, session frequency, facilities, coach-to-player arrangements and expectations for matches. Evaluate the responsibilities against your experience instead of relying on the word academy alone.

Ask about player welfare and communication

Discuss child-protection procedures, injury reporting, parental communication and supervision. Ask how the programme handles different abilities and how it evaluates development. Prepare examples of age-appropriate coaching without sharing a child's identity, records or video without permission.

Assess a confirmed role

Use policy information to understand the landscape, then verify a specific employer's vacancy and requirements. Check contract terms, professional registration and employment permission. Sector activity is not a promise of recruitment demand, an available placement or guaranteed career progression.
